Outreach and drug education
Our outreach work takes us across the conurbation and Dorset: led by our long-standing community theatre group, we perform in schools using theatre-in-education and open dialogue to better inform them, about the many challenges and choices that young people currently face. From addiction to county lines, self-care to online grooming, our work is authentic, relevant, and thought-provoking.
We’ve been very fortunate to have received support and funding from Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner and also SNG (formerly Sovereign Housing) to extend The Wasp’s Nest tour, which will be performed across the entire county this year. We are also extremely grateful to the George Temperance and Valentines Charitable Trusts for their endorsement and financial support for this important work.
Community Theatre
From our integrated group, Celeste to our Community Theatre group, what empowers us most is bringing our work to the public: in 2023 Celeste undertook a short tour of ‘Hopefool’ across Dorset (kindly supported by Deed). We also had the opportunity to perform The Wasps Nest at The Black Cherry, another Boscombe-based arts organisation that champions the power of community arts and participation. This year we will be taking a brand new production to the stage at Pavilion Dance SW and also Lighthouse Poole. Sign up to our mailing list to find out more.
